Yesterday, Grace Perez Navarro, the Director of the OECD’s Centre for Tax Policy and Administration, recommended to Brazil’s Finance Minister (Fernando Haddad) that the implementation of the 15% global minimum tax on multinational companies should be part of Brazil’s tax reform package.
Brazil is currently reviewing its tax regime with a view to making significant changes (including the introduction of a single consumption tax in place of the state ICMS and municipal ISS). The Brazilian House of Representatives established a Working Group on Tax Reform to make comprehensive proposals.
